Dimension collaborates with host communities to optimize projects based on local priorities and needs, and ensuring projects are complementary to other land uses
Dimension's portfolio provides guaranteed savings to a mix of residential and commercial customers throughout New York's National Grid and NYSEG service territories
New York's community solar program was first introduced in 2015 under the state’s "Reforming the Energy Vision" (REV) initiative, following the enablement of virtual net metering in 2011. Since its launch, the program has grown to become the country’s largest community solar market. Dimension has been an active leader in community solar projects across New York, as both a developer and owner/operator since the company’s founding in 2018.
Dimension’s projects create stable, long-term income streams for New York farmers and other landowners, while increasing revenues for the host municipalities and counties. Our investments in community solar facilities provide expanded access to affordable clean energy options for households and small businesses throughout the state who face accessibility challenges with other forms of solar. We prioritize development that is complementary to local land use and collaborate with the local community to shape our projects based on their needs and objectives. Consistent with our goals of preserving the natural landscape, we utilize native pollinator species and sheep grazing practices wherever possible.
